ABSTRACT

WHO recommends washing hands frequently, staying away from crowds, maintaining a safe distance, wearing masks, applying cough and sneeze ethics, as well as keeping the sick isolated and quarantining those in close contact to prevent Covid-19 transmission. The efforts to prevent the transmission of new cases during the adaptation to the new habits with the implementation of strict health protocols need massive enforcement. It was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The study was conducted in East Java with 1,564 participants involved by simple random sampling technique. The dependent variable was preventive behavior against Covid-19 transmission. The independent variables included attitudes, knowledge, family support, and health worker support. The data were collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed with multiple linear regression. The study demonstrated that attitudes (B= 0.07, SE= 0.04, p= 0.034), knowledge (B= 0.08, SE= 0.04, p= 0.050), family support (B= 0.12, SE= 0.05, p= 0.012), and health workers support (B= 0.37, SE= 0.03, p<0.001) increase the preventive behavior against Covid-19 transmission. The value of R2 = 0.388, marked that the variables of knowledge, family support, and health worker support simultaneously pose an influence of 38.8% on preventive behavior against Covid-19 transmission. While the remaining 61.2% was influenced by other variables not examined. © 2023, Mahidol University - ASEAN Institute for Health Development. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

The current COVID-19 pandemic requires everyone to limit their activities outside home. This situation also affects the learning process, which requires students and teachers to do their work from home without having to meet face to face following the government policies in schools. Therefore, they must use electronic learning (e-learning) to solve these problems. However, this e-learning model has not been well responded by teachers for learning activities. The research examines the readiness of Learning Object Materials (LOM) during the pandemic at two vocational schools in Magelang. To assess the teachers' readiness, a mixed-method is used, namely qualitative and quantitative methods. Interview and technical assistance are also done in the research. The results show how the material can be completed using the available time so that the teachers can focus on deepening the material and increasing correspondence. The use of free software using a computer can answer the e-learning model. Moreover, after mentoring, there is a 27% increase in understanding about LOM materials. However, it is also found that teachers are not ready and do not understand how to start online learning and use elearning. There are problems in knowledge, the Internet, the LOM process, facilities and infrastructures, as well as the combination of theory and practice. © 2021 CommIT Journal. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

Globally, various sectors were adversely affected by the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to determine the economic condition of bamboo craftsmen in Mandalagiri Village, Leuwisari District, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. This is an in-depth research with data obtained by interviewing 35 bamboo craftsmen with various products and production scales. The results showed that craftsmen were not economically affected by the pandemic rather by the central government-stipulated regulation on social distancing, which led to their inability to transport their product from Tasikmalaya to Jakarta and other regions. However, since the government lifted the ban, their income has increased by an average of 2%. The result further showed that the main factor that keeps craftsmen from being negatively affected by the pandemic is the increasing online market demand supported by the availability of raw materials and the ability to adapt to various new model products. Other factors linked to the national market and products answer the demand of the modern market in the cities. Meanwhile, the main factors that positively affect the craftsmen's income are age and marital status. © 2021 by Forest and Society. ABSTRACT

Background: WHO has designated Covid-19 as a pandemic, this has an effect on mental health when people are stuck at home and it is unknown when the social distancing rule ends. This affects the quality of student learning faced with stressors in dealing with lecture material and exposure to Covid-19 information from social media. This study aims to predict the effect of social media exposure on depression and anxiety disorders in health students in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Methode: This research is a cross sectional study with a sample of students majoring in health in Indonesia in May 2020. Data were collected using a questionnaire through an online survey. Data were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression with Stata 13. Result: Results from the study found that there was a significant effect of social media exposure on depression (OR=1.64;CI 95%=1.05 hingga 2.57;p=0.031) and anxiety disorders (OR=1.64;CI 95%=1.18 to 3.40;p=0.008) in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Conclusion: Exposure to social media during this pandemic can increase the risk of depression and anxiety disorders in college students. So, it is expected that students also need to know the steps to protect themselves from excessive stress and panic in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak. © 2020 Ubiquity Press. All rights reserved.
